A smooth and efficient service

Gatwick to Stansted chauffeur service over the Thames
The eastern M25, the Dartford Crossing and the M11 carry you from Gatwick's arrivals hall to Stansted's front door in one car.
From Gatwick, across the river to Stansted
Gatwick to Stansted chauffeur service links London's second airport, in West Sussex, with its Essex counterpart, using a pre-booked private car and a licensed driver. It's the answer when an arrival at Gatwick meets a departure from Stansted and neither the trains nor the coach fit your bags or your timing.
Expect about 72 miles of road and roughly 80 minutes behind the wheel when traffic is kind. The drive stays outside London, crossing the Thames at Dartford rather than threading through the capital.
A name board waits for you in Gatwick's arrivals hall, and your flight is tracked so the pickup follows the real landing time. Sixty minutes of waiting comes free from touchdown.
Vinta's drivers are licensed by Transport for London and DBS-checked, and bookings run under TfL Operator Licence 73850301. Most clients on this route are catching a Ryanair flight onwards, or travelling as a group with luggage that no train carriage welcomes.
The sections below cover the Dartford route, meeting points at Gatwick North and South, the two rail options through London, connection timing and the right vehicle for a long run.
Round the east side and over the Dartford Crossing
The car heads north on the M23, meets the M25 at junction 7 and turns east through Surrey and Kent. At the Dartford Crossing it passes under the Thames through the northbound tunnels, rejoins the M25 in Essex and leaves at junction 27 for the M11, finishing at junction 8 for the airport.
The Dart Charge applies on the crossing, and it's already inside your quoted fare along with fuel and parking. Queues at the tunnels are the main variable, so the driver watches them before you land and, if they're bad, weighs the longer western arc of the M25 instead.
Where Gatwick pickups happen
North Terminal and South Terminal each have an arrivals hall. Your chauffeur waits in the right one, holding your name, and takes charge of the trolley once you've come through.
Stansted has only one terminal, so the drop-off needs no decision. The car pulls into the set-down area outside departures, a few steps from Ryanair's bag drop.
Landing at Gatwick after a long-haul flight
Gatwick serves long-haul routes to North America, the Caribbean and the Middle East alongside its European network. After a night in the air, the last thing most people want is a platform change at Victoria with two suitcases.
Your chauffeur meets you whatever the hour, loads the cases and leaves you to rest for the hour and more it takes to reach Essex. The cabin is quiet, and bottled water is waiting.
Kent and Essex on the way
Before the river, the M25 passes the M26 at junction 5, the M20 at junction 3 and the A2 at junction 2. North of the Thames it runs through Thurrock and past the A13 at junction 30 before reaching the M11.
These eastern junctions carry heavy lorry traffic to and from the Channel ports, so daytime speeds vary more here than on the northern M25. The driver watches them and adjusts the plan if one backs up.
Two ways by rail, and why most groups drive
Rail can do it, with changes. One option is the Gatwick Express to Victoria, the Victoria line to Tottenham Hale and the Stansted Express from there. Another is Thameslink into central London, the Elizabeth line to Liverpool Street and the Stansted Express. Either way, you'll change twice with everything you're carrying.
National Express also runs a direct coach. It costs less per seat, but it keeps to a timetable, and a delayed flight can mean waiting for the next one.
What the crossing means for your timing
Dartford is where this drive gains or loses time. On a clear run the whole trip sits close to 80 minutes; with tunnel queues on a Friday afternoon, allow half an hour or more on top.
A safe gap between flights
Aim for four and a half hours between landing at Gatwick and departing Stansted. That allows for UK border checks, a long drive with a river crossing and Stansted security, which runs busiest on early mornings and summer weekends. Late-evening runs are easier, as the Dartford queues usually ease after 20:00.
Space for a long run
On a drive of over an hour, legroom matters. The First Class S-Class suits up to 3 passengers, while the Mercedes-Benz Vito seats 8 with 10 cases and the Sprinter minibus takes groups of up to 19. Child seats are fitted on request.
